Pierre ROUCH

Bagpipes, clari (traditional oboe)
Introduced as self-taught musician into folk circles through his uncle Michel Rouch who taught him the diatonic accordion and passed on his passion for traditional music.
Discovered the Gascon bagpipes with Bernard Desblanc at the Occitan. conservatory.
Bagpipes of all shapes and sizes soon became a central part of the life.
This period saw the birth of "Gadalzen" which allowed him to forge his own style.
On encounter led to another in a succession of concerts and dances and he commissioned instruments frm the workshop of Robert Matta who in turn passed on his passion for his craft.
Today Pierre Rouch is a maker of Pyrenean oboes and bagpipes in his own right.
